my roommate had a pretty bad day yesterday, so i did the only thing I know to do to make someone feel better and got to work in the kitchen.  I went and bought some french bread and cubed it last night so it would dry out.
this morning i used this recipe to make bread pudding (http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1612,158178-247200,00.html)  except i used cinnamon instead of nutmeg and brown sugar instead of regular sugar (I really don't know how I ran out of something so basic..) i also added a banana, but that was a bad choice.  It wasn't the best bread pudding I've ever had but it was still pretty tasty. 

one of my banana slices was purple and I kind of freaked out, then I realized it was probably just touching a raisin...

I had a lot of bread left over so i melted some butter, mixed in some pesto and extra garlic, coated the rest of the bread and put it under the broiler mixing every couple of minutes for i think about 8 minutes total and made FABULOUS croutons!
