I made this set for the Craft for my Kid Swap.  Now I think I need to make another for my kiddos.  I designed the pin pattern myself.  It's just based off a jpeg of a real bowling pin.  I think next time though, I need to make a wider base since they had a hard time standing upright.  I weighted the bottom of the pins with small muslin sacks filled with rice.  I think I ended up using a whole bag of polyfill!

And patchwork storage bag:

How cute!  Great job, my extended family loves to bowl, and would just geek out over this!

Bumping up an old post to ask a question.......

Are the bowling pins made from 4 pattern pieces?  I am trying to figure out how to make these for my nephew for Christmas.

Thanks!

Lydia

The pins are made from three pieces for the top and one for the base.  If you are adjusting a bowling pin jpeg for your pattern, make sure to draw your tops so they are pointed, not round.  You can kind of get the gist of making one by checking out the pattern for the WeeWonderfuls bunny pattern.  It is a similar shape to the pins.

Have fun!
