I am in charge of decorating a major fundraising dinner event for a foodbank. Each year is a different theme... this year it's "Gold Rush" (as in Levi's, gold nuggets, etc). I need to come up with some ideas for the table toppers (they can't be more than $7 each)... any ideas?

The table seat about 8 people and the colors are bluejean blue, bandana red, and of course gold.

_nevermind just realized posted in the wrong place. My screen wasn't opened all the way. Go back to your knitting. Nothing to see here.

here is my quick sketch ---- I say cheap metal buckets spray painted black --- with a bandana lining the inside - take floral foam and place it in the bottom cute up either foam or styrafoam into chunks or nuggets and spray paint them gold then stick them with thin dowels or shish-k-bob skewers whatever's cheapest and and stick them in the bottom foam fill out the rest of the bucket with golden daisies and black-eyed susans and use denim scraps or bandana scrap as a table runner of dressing underneath - cheap and gold-rush chic!

That's a great idea. I know it's silly but I never thought of flowers since we're never done that before... That would work well with the other thing I was planning to do which was take old big tomato cans and letting them rust a bit and then sticking some goldpainted branches in for a nice contrast.

Right now I'm trying to also collect old jeans to cut up for accents. Smiley
