Are they hot or bell peppers or both? You can roast them and freeze them to use later.

I second that. To roast them, put them in the broiler and let them get all blackened and charred on all sides. You'll need to rotate them a couple times. Then, toss them in a paper bag and close it. It'll steam the skin so it's really easy to pull off. I really like roasted peppers on burgers.

You can also make red pepper pasta sauce. It's super tasty!

The newsletter says "Mixed Sweet and Spicy Peppers including Poblano, Jalapeno, Serrano, Heirloom Red, and Banana". I know I have a banana pepper and at least one jalepeno. I also have some cayennes and poblanos growing in my own garden!

Ooh pasta sauce sounds good! I like adding roasted pepper to sandwiches.

Roasted peppers are good in everything: quiche, eggs, hummus, soup, pasta sauce, salsa, dips, salads, etc etc. You could make pepper jelly, too.

Well I didn't have much time to think about what to do before the boy swooped in and made hot sauce! Cheesy  But I am seriously interested in roasted peppers now... I wonder what I can do with roasted GREEN peppers (I found some hiding in the fridge)

Also, I just need to share my new favorite thing. Tastespotting. I just made two recipes I found through it tonight. A peach-raspberry cobbler type thing, and lemon raspberry muffins! It's basically a collection of great food related blog posts. I've only found a few that didn't have recipes, and you can search for what you want!

It's CSA time again! Not only am I in the dreaded first few weeks, but the friend I share the box with is out of town until week 4! Soooooooo many greens. Ugh. Plus we've moved to a new share that doesn't give recipes. I've done lettuce wraps and a salad or two. Any ideas for lettuce for non-salad-y types?  I also have turnips (which I don't quite know what to do with), beets, radishes (both of which I dislike in almost everything), broccoli, zucchini, and... some other things I'm forgetting.  Anyone have any great recipes their using with their share this week?

I saw a recipe for a BLT pasta salad. I didn't make note of it but it was some sort of mayo based pasta salad with bacon, tomatoes, and lots of chopped lettuce. It looked yummy.

eta: I think I saw it on pinterest.

That sounds good batgirl!

Here's the blog with recipes for the CSA I used to get. I'm sad we don't get it anymore!

Awesome!

I made oatmeal, kale, & a poached egg for breakfast this morning. Oh man. SOOOOO good!  Here's where I got the idea (but no real recipe): http://www.riceandwheat.com/2011/05/savory-oatmeal/

I'm also probably going to try a "Tropical Kale Smoothie" later today along with my southwestern style salad (I got all the goodies from the salad section of Trader Joe's! Corn salsa, black beans, roasted peppers...). We had a slightly different version of lettuce wraps last night.  Basically any version on Tastespotting (linked above!) is similar, we just used whatever we had and left out what we didn't.

I'm tellin' ya, it's greens-a-palooza over here!
