LP Bookends (Many Pictures)

Don't you just love easy? I know I do, and here is a craft that was stupid easy. 

My daughter loves 2 things: Music and Books! Here I've combined the two for something functional for her.

Oo!  This is a great use of LPs! They look like LPs and look like bookends that work. Put me in the "how'd you bend them?" line, please!

yay!! new use for records!! hahaha, i make record things (purses, bowls, jewelry...etc) but never thought this one up!! sweet...

for all you wanting to know how to bend...
my preferred method is boiling a skillet full of water, dip the record in and slowly feel it start to soften, use a oven mitt to help shape and Viola! record art!! **the records tend to stiffen up seconds after removed from the water, so do shaping a bit at a time, and dont worry, its easy to fix,,just remelt!! and remelt, and remelt again!!! hope this helps!!

In this case I put the LP half way on/off my workbench. Then put some weight on the end on the workbench and turned on the old heat gun. In less than a minute the record was heated enough to bend half way, and cool in place. All 3 LPs were done in less than 10 minutes.

See I told you stupid easy.

you can put the records in a low temp oven for a few minutes til it softens then bend that way

also all records i use are from the bargain bin, mostly old 12" singles. believe me, i collect vinyl so i'd never harm a valuable record!
