Wanted to use up some small tesserae I've had hanging about, and a recent trip to the dollar store brought a fun project.

This was a dollar store ceramic birdhouse I thought the shape was pretty.

Used tiles, glass, wire, beads, porcelain flowers, gold washed grout, beaded chain, acrylic paint and copper tubing.

Piece grouted.

Just need to find a small bird to poke inside.

Thanks for looking, and comments, questions always welcome.  Smiley

I also think the flowers add the perfect touch to an already classy piece.  I would never have guessed you started with a base from the dollar store!

Thanks everyone! Smiley

If you notice in the grouted picture the grout is white. I used a wash of gold acrylic paint over the grout to tint it. It can be done several ways but for this project that was the effect I wanted. Smiley
