Awesome idea! Kitty litter boxes are so ugly, it's nice to be able to hide them away.

In case you were wondering, gutting TV's, especially retro sets, is incredibly dangerous and should only be done by a professional. Home respirators do not offer enough protection against the small particulate matter than can be dislodged. Also, older sets used lead, which makes them incredibly hazardous to not only you, but improper disposal of "tv guts" is disastrous for the environment. Finally, older sets used different electrical components than newer sets, and sometimes they are not labeled properly- a potential for electrocution. If you are planning on doing this, check to see if your county has an electronics collection to see if they could remove the innards for you.

I don't mean to chastise you, I really love your creation and it's an amazing way to cover an ugly object. Just be safe in the future : )

Thanks for your comments, I was actually looking for some information like this before I started this project but I came up short.  Maybe this advice will help someone else out there who takes on the vintage TV challenge.  I am glad now that I bagged the "guts" up and saved them in the hopes of finding some place to dispose of them properly.

All Vintage, All the time.
