Oh so tragically hip

This one is the pride and joy of my random knick-knacks of owls. A good friend of mine found her in her attic and painted her some of my favorite colors. I did it in acrylic paint with tons of varnish to keep it set. I'm not too thrilled with the purple and navy-ish of the branch so I think I might repaint it to be brown.
I took one with just the lamp's own light on and the other lights in the room on to show the colors better.
Le sigh, gotta love the 70's and its glorious interior decor!

I love it!

I am not a huge fan of purple, but somehow it makes the lamp even more kitchy-cool! Love the colours you chose for the owl.  The 70s - such a gloriously tacky and wonderful decade!

I am soooo jealous of this. My entire room is filled with weird owls/creepy 70's things! I love the colors and it looks glorious with the light on! TOTALLY JEALOUS. Shocked

I totally love this thing! but i think you are right about the branch... the brown will make the owl stand out so much more! But it is still wicked awesome!

I had an owl lamp almost just like this, but I think it had 3 owls on it.  I wish I had done something cool with it, but it started falling apart in chunks.  I put it on the curb and a woman came by and got it almost immediately.  You did a great job; I think the colors work fine.
