So...I am about to begin a very daunting task of personal betterment and decided to make myself an amulet bag...just for good measure. I wanted something without beads, and in an interesting shape. This was supposed to look like a miniature duffel or ye olde money bag, but I think it rather resembles a pickle. What do you think?

This is the front. I found this really pretty green cloth for twelve cents in the remnant bin. I love the openwork stripes in it.

The side stripes:

It's not very big either...( The drawstring is kind of lame, but it was what I had on hand.)

Detail of the stitching.

Stitches used:

Lazy Daisy
Chain
Detached Chain
Forbidden Knot
Checkered Chain
Straight Stitch
Back Stitch
Outline Stitch
Buttonhole Wheels
Woven Wheels
Satin Stitch

The arrangement is from some crazy quilt designs I have collected over the years.

Hope you like!

The pickle bag!

Actually, I do think it looks rather medieval. Are you using it for change?

You did a great job on the embroidery and it looks a lot more like a duffel than a pickle to me! The florals look a bit like some Turkish embroidery I've seen; your composition is very pleasing.  Again, lovely work, and good luck with your Task!

Beautiful job on the stitching.  I like the way you played off of features of the fabric you used - your amulet bag is really nice! Best of luck on your personal betterment task, whatever it may be!
