I am interested in starting an atlanta area crafting group - i guess like a stitch and bitch - or something like that where would would meet weekly or monthly and either craft different things, or bring in materials to make a specified project together, or even just a show and tell

- does anyone belong to something like this?
- does anyone know good resources on how to start one?
- does anyone want to join in atl area?

thanks
xoxo

I'm a member of a Yahoo! group based in preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'Atlanta...stitchnbitchstnmtn') (well, Stone Mountain).   The last crafty thing they did was a melt and pour soap project in November.  I just joined the group so I don't know if they do a lot of projects, but I hope that helps you.

Um, how did I miss this? I wanna, too! I'm in Gwinnett Co. There were a few things on meetup.com, but I'm not sure how often they actually meet. I wouldn't mind helping organize a little shindig - my email is adlib77@email.com. Y'all get a hold of me and maybe we could something together.

wow -

I missed all the atlanta crafting group replies...

i am going to email you all too... but
what days of the week are good for you ....
mondays are horrible for me.... i have hebrew class every week...

what about a saturday morning?

I am hoping this could be a bi-weekly or monthly event

would you be willing to pay a fee before like $10 (through paypal) and i could bring supplies for everyone for a project we can work on together

also i would love to do this out of my house - but maybe not the first few times due to the fact i have never met you and a common location like a craft store, park, coffee shop maybe more central ....

also I think it would be cool if each person brings in one project that they made to share and share how they made it - and then (at least for the first few times) I bring in a project and each of us make one together...

let me know all of your thoughts...
xoxo

hi melissa - i havent checked my email yet - but i am sure i got your info!

as for an amount of people - we roughly have about 15 interested and about 8 commited that sent in a profile...

as for sponsers for venues --- I have one venue that has said they are more than happy to host us - but they are getting a new events coordinator next week and i have to schedule with them as well as their space holds at most 12 people ... so I will be calling other locations and getting in touch with other potential sponsers this week - i am hoping our first meeting will be the first week of feb...

that's all the new news I have!

xoxo
