This swap was started at just the perfect time.  I spent the past few days at a huge family reunion, so it was great to have something small to knit while sitting and talking. 

As a result, I have one dishcloth done that I'm sending, one I'm keeping and one that's about 1/3 of the way done that will be sent dishcloth #2.  Thinking the second dishcloth will be completed during a flight to NY later this week.

kind of a nice mix of hookers and knitters. Can't wait to see the cloths!

I started on one last night and about to sit and finish it (forget the dishes tonite!).

Someone posted that they were blocking theirs. Is that necessary for a cloth? I understand that it would make the cloth look nicer when the person gets it, but it would seem that using the cloth would get it out of shape.  Just wondering. I don't block a lot of my work - I'm lazy I guess.

I have one cloth done and am almost haflway through the second one. i am hoping to get it done so i can ship this weekend.

I was thinking of blocking too, but I wasn't sure about that either. I generally don't block non-clothing items, but the patterns seem like they might benefit from it.

I have heard of people blocking their dishcloths, but I have never done so.

I am one of them..I am not the other..the one that I am blocking just looks a little nicer for my partner to receive..but the other one turned out just spiffy...

I am hooking the cloths this round but I can use the pointy sticks too.  I have mine all finished just need to find time to send them off.

I block all of mine that has a pattern to them! I just fold them in half then in half again and hold them under the water in the sink. Then kind of press on it to make it suck up the water.(no ringing action.that does throw them out of shape)

Next I press it to get the water out of it and then place it on a towel. I use my fingers to smooth down the fabric around the pattern. Once it is dry it looks LOTS better!
