Hee hee, Tere!  You've got good  eyes.  Yes, it's the same yarn I used for the Weekend Knitting mittens (pic at http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=25447.0).  I wear the hat and mittens together.  I call it my "green tea" set, or sometimes my "wasabi" set if I'm going out for sushi.  I love that it makes me look like an edamame, which are the salted soy beans served as a side dish at Japanese restaurants.

THANKS, ookipik, for making such a fun pattern!  I bought Knit Wit because of this pattern!

For the toys, the Jean Greenhowe booklet is this one:

To anyone who is a bit hesitant about making toys - I say GO for it!  Toys were my first knitting projects after scarves.  They are perfect for beginners because they are usually knit on 2 needles in st-st, you dont have to check your gauge so you can use any old cheapo scrap yarn and almost any size needles, you dont need to have super-neat finishing skills when sewing up seams and you dont even have to weave in ends!

Oooh, cute!

I once made a similar looking finger puppet (a crocodile), but got so fidgety that I didn't even add the arms in the end. I'm way too impatient for small, intricate projects.

Ya know, I never thought I would like knitting toys BUT those ducks are the absolute cutest things I've ever seen.  I just bought the book and can't wait for it to be delivered...hopefully by the end of the week...Smiley

I just ordered an assload of her books from LYS last week.  I hope they don't take too long to get here.  I have baby gifts to make, and I need something small and fun to break up the sweater I am making from the new Rebecca.

Most knitters drink tea or coffee whilst knitting..... I drink bourbon.
