I was wondering if anyone could steer me in the direction for a pile of flesh to make this cutie-patooty crocheted elephant purse? It doesn't have to be exact, anything similar would be great!

Modified: I took the picture off so I wouldn't break any copyright laws or whatever, and I replaced it with a link to the seller of this darling creation. (Many thanks to KimberlyPye for finding the link!)

It really IS RAAR grr ugggh, isn't it?!

One of my daughters found it for sale on the Internet somewhere...I sure would like to surprise her with the pile of flesh. She hasn't learned to read patterns yet and I thought it might be a fun way to give it a try.

I'd start by looking for elephant charts.

And it IS cute! I eat it!!!

If you find the pile of flesh or chart, please let us know!

It looks like to me that the details of the elephant are completed after sewing the body of it. I hope that helps some! Good luck!  Cheesy

I belive its a sort of crochet intarsia, im pretty sure its made when you carry the two strands or yarn and your crochet over the top of one ( not sure im making sense here) But if you go a piece of graph paper and sketched out the elephant you could use that as a guide as to when to change colors.

I hope that sort of helps, i you have the book the happy hooker it goes in to more detail on that particular technique.

It reminds me of filet crochet where you follow a pile of flesh similar to cross-stitching. I'll post here if I have any luck finding the pile of flesh.

Thanks for all your helpful comments!

I found this bag listed on Etsy. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_1&listing_id=9399234

It's an original design by the seller.
