Sometimes it's knit and sometimes it's crochet.

t1g3rl1ly--Thanks for sharing the pattern. I loved the whole illusion knitting concept but wasn't tickled with the skull/alien thing. I'm happy to see your snowflake version.

Hey it looks great! Thanks for posting a link to your picture. What yarn and what size needles did you end up using? It looks really thick and warm!

I used Lion Brand Jiffy, which is an acrylic that is supposed to look like mohair. I used size 11 needles. It's pretty wide, but it is very warm and thick.

Thanks for the pattern. Everyone loves it that has seen it!

That's great, Tejer.  I'm doing grey and white too!  I think I'm going to give it away as a Crafty secret santa swap I'm in.  I should be able to finish the scarf and perhaps even whip up a hat to go along with it.  It's for someone who's an extremely talented sewer and crafter so do you think she'll like it??

I think she's like it. It got an, 'I'll be darned' out of my dad, who had given me the impression that knitting was more effort than it was worth. It is pretty impressive to look at and most people have not seen illusion knitting before.

I like the one I'm making with sparkly wool-ease even better. I think I'm going to add fun fur fringe to this one since it's for my niece. I'll post a picture again when that one is done.

Edit: Here are the photos of the recently completed wool-ease/fun fur scarf. I crocheted the fun fur on as a trim, but since I don't really know how to do this, it didn't turn out quite as planned. Any suggestions how to habndle a fun-fur trim like this would be appreciated for future reference!
