Hey I made up this pattern.  I got inspired by SnB, but aliens aren't my thing.

adorable scarf!  i really like it (and share your general dislike for aliens).  also, making your own design is pretty impressive.  what kind of yarn did you use?

good job,

Wow, I had a similar idea (different colors) planned out as a first time knitting project.  But I bagged it thinking it might not look good.  I just might have to take up that idea again!  Thanks for the inspiration. Smiley

That's great.  I'm not really into aliens either, but I couldn't think of anything to replace them with.  This is brilliant!

I did a Che Guevara one (with the image only on the ends) in red and black. But I gave it to my brother and forgot to photograph it first...
It's easy enough to design the pattern, there's some good explanations around. Although sensible people do snowflakes, which look pretty spiffy, rather than che guevara, which is too complicated for the technique and comes out looking, depending on which of my friends you ask, like Jesus, the Mona Lisa, or the letter P.

Yay snowflakes which are, clearly, very cool indeed! And yay t1g3rl1ly for making them!

what kind of yarn did you use?

I'm using a really cheap combo of threads...the blue is just Red Heart and the white is Lion's Brand wool-ease.  So this scarf is like $5!  The white yarn has a sparkly fiber in the yarn though, so the scarf sparkles a lot.   I'm not sure you can see that on the picture itself.

Here's the website I used to figure out how to make a pattern.  It took a couple of tries but all in all, it wasn't very difficult.

I LOVE snowflakes!
My next tattoo is going to be a snowflake... maybe I should knit a matching scarf....

Great job! I love illusion knitting, but can't find cool patterns to use. I made my husband the skull illusion scarf (courtesy of ysolda who posted her chart here on craftster), but skulls really aren't for me and I couldn't think of anything I would want to chart myself. This is very cute though, I just might try this one for myself.  Smiley
