I love Jim Henson.

When I was little, I was inspired to be me, as odd, silly and creative as I was.

That sense of creativity and love for one's fellow man and the world has never left, thanks to Jim Henson.

Here is my first attempt at a shrine! The Kermit, Ernie and Bert are made of sculpey by me! (Sorry for the blurry pics...I'm very sleepy!)

The back photo show some lyrics to "The Rainbow Connection"

"Who said that every
wish would
be heard and answered
when wished on the morning star?

Somebody thought of that and
someone believed it,
and look what
it's done so far.

What's so amazing that
keeps us stargazing?
And what do we think we might see?

Someday we'll find it,
the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me."

I hope you like it!!

I read that challenge and as is common for me I couldn't think... of who my heroes were. But Jim Henson was definitely one of them. I loved the Muppet TV prime time show. Watched a little of Sesame Street with my niece. Too bad he had to die so young...

Thanks for reminding me of all he's done for us.

Oh, I like your shrine too. Great idea.

Thanks Sue!

I couldn't even begin to explain the profound impact Jim Henson's creativity and imagination had on me growing up. Now, as an adult, his themes of peace, understanding and ever-constant dreaming still ring true in my life.

No one is more perfect to commemorate in this challenge for me!

Thanks for your comment!
