I just made this today.  Who doesn't feel Batman was their childhood hero?

He has a detachable cape!  I feel he needs accessories, though.

Do you think he needs eyes? Hubby thinks so, but I think it made him look odd...  He looks more mysterious this way, maybe...

Thanks for looking!

Here's his bat-arang! It attaches with velcro.

I also scalloped his cape which I forgot to do at first!

I really love him!!!!

I think he does need some utility belt accessories but don't add eyes!

He always had those mysterious empty eyes when he was in his suit.

My Geek ....I mean husband says that you should NOT add eyes since they are really special lenses according to the comics  at least.

To me, he is GREAT.  Just needs a Bat-a-rang and maybe a pair of Bat-Cuffs. Grin  Then he can be off to fight evil-doers in your neighborhood.

I vote for no eyes - he is wearing a mask and doesn't need eyes.

What really caught my eye was the wall paper!  I love it!

I love the proportions! I'd leave the eyes, maybe paint them gray? (unless they photographed lighter than they really are)

Oh. My. God. That is so amazing! I love Batman so much, perhaps more than I should, and I have a friend who would kill for this doll (erm... action figure XD). So I have to second the request for a pattern. And I think that he looks perfect without eyes - he doesn't have eyes when he wears the mask in the cartoon either!

Thanks everyone!   I TOLD HIM SO!  I knew he didn't have eyes with the mask, but he INSISTED that he needed eyes... MEN!

I love the proportions! I'd leave the eyes, maybe paint them gray? (unless they photographed lighter than they really are)

Thanks!  They are a light unbleached thick muslin, but they are white on batman "in real life".

To those of you who asked for a pattern...  I don't have a scanner, and I made the pattern up using paper, so I'll try to figure something out if I have time...  Any ideas on how to turn it into a digital pattern without a scanner?  I do, obviously, have a camera...

I am going to work on the batarang and maybe bat rope?  I dunno, gotta figure out how to make his utilities without clay or anything, and he's only about 13 inches tall, so to make them so small...

THANKS AGAIN!

Well, you could take pictures with your camera and trace over them in Photoshop to make your digital pattern. But just pictures and measurements (and maybe the odd tip on how to pull it all together) would be more than fine for me!

As my answer to making anything fairly flat and small... How about shrinky dinks for the batarang?  Embrodiery floss twisted would make a good rope.  But I am sure that others might have some better ideas.

Good idea, but I'm afraid I have to make due with what I have... no job... and I haven't got any shrinky dinks...  Cry

And about the bat rope, I need some tines for the ends, you know... I don't have a prob with the rope itself, but those tines... maybe bent paper clips?  I'll have to look at what I've got in the old recycle bin and junk drawer!
