Who doesn't love Raffi? *warning:pic overload*

So... When I think of my childhood hero, one person stands out above the rest... Raffi. I LOVED Raffi when I was a child and have been overcome with glee to share Raffi with my children! He always struck me as a man who had so much heart and really cared about people, the earth, and children especially. If you don't know about Raffi, you should get to know him because your life will be enriched ( http://www.raffinews.com/ ).
  So, to memorialize my hero, I decided to put him on my sketchbook. I received this book from my hubby a short while ago. I had previously been using a notebook which drove me crazy with all the lines (although it never occurred to me to get a proper sketchbook).
  I made raffi out of paper... just cut paper. I haven't done this in a while and have always considered it my favorite thing to do... just not very practical for real life...

Has anyone every gotten carded for buying rubber cement? I got carded... at Target... with my two kids...

Carded for rubber cement?? Really?? I used to work at Hobby Lobby and ours was just sitting on the register displays for $1.99.

Anyway, LOVE your journal. Raffi sang me to sleep for many years when I was a kid (I spent a year in the hospital as a little one and he was a comfort when I was alone). Your tribute brought a little tear to my eye.

ROFL @ rubber cement. So strange. I've never even had to ask for a container of it [meaning it was always just on shelf], but then again, I suppose spray paint is too. I would just never think they would card you for that!

I'm not familiar with Raffi, but I love the assembly of paper.  It turned out really nicely!

I work at target, and it was the first time I encountered carding for rubber cement.  The register prompted me to scan someone's ID and I was just mystified for a moment (as was the customer)... but no harm done, I guess.

People always say that I look young. I joke that people think that I am 14... although I have never been carded for rubber cement before. That was a first.

Awwwwwwwwww, this is GREAT!  I've been meaning to jazz up my sketchbook covers for ages- I think I may have finally gotten the push I needed!  I can't wait to put my childhood hero, Mr. Dressup, on one! (He's Canadian.... I can't believe how many people haven't heard of him, hehe).
