Hey all-
I keep finding all sorts of weird crap on the way to the subway each morning. And, I think there's great potential to have a fun swap centered on such amazing finds. Basically, my idea would be to create something with at least one found item. For example-if you found a picture, you would do something creative with it, or if you found a weird piece of glass, you could turn it into a pendant, or add it it in some way.

I'm thinking you can't really add "size" requirements to this since it's the nature of the swap, but we could have a "two piece" minimum and/or something like that.

-any takers?

Kind of an interesting idea. Keep me posted. Though to be honest, the only thing I find in my area are empty beer bottles [i live in the country].
im sure I could find something though.

Yeah, I just moved to nyc, so there's a plethora of crazy shit on the ground. yesterday, I found a desk! Um, living in the country provides its own "found" experiences, like more natural objects--feathers, bones, etc?

I'll keep you posted, though, for sure.

Thats definitely true! I'm sure people would actually have a lot of fun with this swap if they thought about it! It's sort of a "green" swap anyway because you're recycling a found item!

I was in a found item swap back in the spring and it was truly a blast, here is a link to the thread:

If this were to happen I'd definitely join up because it really pushed my creative limits!

yeah, I like the other swap's details:
Each participant would be expected to make 7 points worth of items.  Large items are worth 3 point, medium items are worth 2 and small items are worth 1 point.  This allows people a little more room to be creative.  Please keep in mind an item doesn't have to be physically 'large' to be considered a BIG project.  What I'm considering is the time and energy put into a project.

anyone specifically interested in this sort of thing?
