I devoured a lot of comic books when I was little. They were so cheap to get at the flea market.
Needless to say that all of the characters where my heroes. Since we can only post one entry I decided to go with "girl power" and chose: WONDER WOMAN I also saw this Micky Mouse shirt somewhere on TV an where the head was substituted by the wearers head and liked the idea of metaphorical becoming your own childhood hero.
I started with a huge grey T-shirt and added some billion layers of fabric paint with the help of freezer paper stencils. The details (like light reflections) and outlines are handpainted.
After all had dried I transformed the shirt (according to the book "1000 ways to transform a T-shirt") into a neckholder. I could not resist to give it a cape. Wonder Woman does not really wear one but hey, what is a childhood hero without a heroic cape!!
And here it is:

and last but not least, a silly action shot:

How fun! It looks great! Makes me think of the lyrics from the old Wonder Woman show, something like, "In her satin tights/fighting for her rights," and "she can win a war with love." :-)

Great job on the stencilling. I love the idea of head-substitution too. And the cape, well, that kinda speaks for itself Cheesy

That's awesome!  It reminds me of those ugly moo-moo type dresses that you get at beach stores in Panama City.  Except yours is completely awesome.

My 30+ year old daughter would be envious.  She adored Wonder Woman as a child, and alas, her little girl does now as well.  Well thought out.  Well executed!

This is sooooo cute.  I loved Wonder woman when I was little.  I so wanted her body when I grew up (didn't get it. LOL), and the invisible airplane??? How awesome was that.

I know you can't post the actual pattern you used, but could you provide us a link to it maybe?  That is assuming that you found it online.  Going to have to make an attempt at doing one myself!

I used this image
http://michaelmay.us/07blog/images/0510_wonderwoman.jpg
and choose the third from the left. I changed the top to make it look like the one she is actually wearing.
Any more questions?
