So I found this fabric in the clearance section, plus an extra 50% off. The black band at the top is leftover from a purse. Used a free burda pattern. I really just wanted to try out the pattern and see what the style would look like on me. I had to add a belt to go with it or it would have looked like a mumu. For that I just sewed together a few pieces of strech lace. Nothing monumental and it's definatly not perfect but it's comfy and great for summer!

Oh, more pics on my blog   l

I'm making this dress too! In fact I should be finished tonight. Yours looks great! Actually, the black on top might even be the same fabric as my overlay, only mine is pink with sliver throughout. Thats weird.

Heehee I bought that fabric too. I'm planning to make a shirt but I really like your dress! Makes me wish I had bought more to make a summer dress.

I actually just finished up this dress!!!!  You can get the pattern free now on www.burdastyle.com (as I am posting this there site is having issues!)  It is the Azalea Dress.  I am not sure if your pattern is a little different or not, but if you where it the opposite way (larger black section in the back) it is much more flattering on busty figures.  Thats the way the free pattern tells you to put it together at least.  Its neat to know it can be worn both ways!  I will be posting mine as soon as I finish up the hem Smiley
