MONSTER good luck coming my way!

Last month I learned to tat.  I love tatting, but wanted a way to keep them nice and flat and CLEAN!!  So they flew to Ohio to I Sew Cute's resin-land.  Grin  She made the worlds greatest resin tutorial here:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=254029.0
They then flew back home to Indiana.  They made another stop to Polyclay-land (my living room).  I was influenced by this wonderful Tutorial:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=253137.0

I used pearl ex powders and glitter in the liquid clay.  Made puddles of the mixture on a piece glass, after baking peels right off.

Broke out my paper punches and made mini window clings with the left overs.

I cut around with sissors.  No glue needed, they cling nicely by themselves.  They peel easily if peel started on the edges, but they will be covered up when I am done.
Now here comes MY tutorial part, off to bead-land we go.....

I glued heart to felt using E6000.  Start with 4 seed beads.  Lie them against heart, insert needle past the fourth bead, needle back up in between second and third bead, insert needle into last two beads, pull taut.

Repeat these steps all the way around for first row.  Needle thread back around entire row, this makes it nice and even.

Second row, string 5 beads, skip 3 beads on first row, insert needle in 4th bead.  Repeat around for second row.

Notice how I have one extra bead, no worries, we will remedy that with the third row.

Third row, string on three seeds.  Then needle back thru third bead (middle of the 5 of row 2, I call this the TIP bead.)  Three seeds around, tip to tip.

I skipped over that first row (extra bead) in this last step.  If three looks too loose here, use four beads instead.  I then go back thru this last row to pull as tight as I can.  Hugging that cabachon real tight-like with NO glue!!!
Cut felt around your beadwork leaving 1/8th inch space for bead joining row.  To make this super durable, I cut out backing same size from scrap suede.  E6000 glue again the felt to the leather.

This bead joining stitch is my fav for finishing off edges, connecting, and making perty all at the same time.  String on 3 seeds, needle back thru felt and suede.

Needle back UP thru last bead, pull taut......

From here and the rest of row, string TWO seed beads, and repeat around....

last step, string ONE seed bead and DOWN thru very first bead of row, then IN felt and suede to join.  Notice when I work my needle and thread each row, I am staying at the top middle of piece.  I will need it in that area when finished with this row to start the peyote stitched bail.  (experience talking)

I hold up my piece and gauge where the middle looks to be.  I decided to make this bail 5 beads wide.  The three bottom orange beads are going to count as row ONE.  Work the two middle green seeds between them, row TWO complete.

Row 3:  String one seed, needle back thru green, string green then needle thru next green.

String last orange, back DOWN thru orange bead of FIRST row.  This is odd count flat peyote, so every other row will need a little thread travelling.... Needle back thru in across completed below rows, that sounds complicated, just string the thread to come back out other side so start next row, then back thru right side orange you should come out here:

Work across like so.... The last bead of this row is the tricky one.  Travel across other side to start where needed.  There are many different ways beaders choose to keep this odd count fluent.  I choose to travel across rows with thread for it adds strength to bail and keeps work more even (more experience talking)

I beaded 14 rows.  You can aim for a shorter bail but end with even count row (this one will have two greens at the top when ending)

Allow your peyote bail "curl" BACK and needle thru row ONE orange, then in bail last row next green, back down row ONE orange, back in bail last row green etc. I call that a zipper close.  Needle your tail back thru bail, cut then DONE DONE DONE!!!
Now time to look at all my new perties!!!

This one I had to tweak the pattern a little, instead of 5 seeds and skipping three of second row, I did 7 beads and skipped 4 beads.  You have to go with the flow when hugging cabachons, have you bead hugged a cabachon today???   Cheesy

Now I Sew Cute gets to choose which one she wants!!   Grin

I love the idea of the beaded frames! They really add a nice touch to the pendants, and kind of echo the tatted effect. Cool! Thanks for the tut!

Incredibly awesome.  Thank you so much for the tutorial!

I am very impressed by your multi-crafting!  Your pendants are beautiful and creative!  I love the green and orange one best, just because I love those colors, but they are all gorgeous.
