I Saw A Similar Bracelet Somewhere Around Here I Think, Dont Remember Where but i immediately knew that i had to have one.
so i went straight to work.
the first one i made from rolling stone magazine but had ALOT of size issues. but i figure it gives it some character.
The Second, From Newspaper. I Made It much quicker and had a rolling technique down so this one only took me about an hour total, minus drying time. [ both are waterproof!]
I Cant Really Decide Which I Like More, i eat the first ones different colors, and i really do like the variation in size
but the second one to me it seems like the black and white has a little "class" ha
but eh, so there ya have it.
thanks for lookin!
comments and feedback appreciated.
This project is very, VERY simple.
YOU WILL NEED:
Newspaper Or Magazine, Whatever You Want To Use, Colored Paper Etc
[clear] Elastic Cord.
Get Newspaper, i take just one, fold it. so you have 2 layers of paper.
then cut into stripes once you have determined the size you want, it usualy take me around 20-25 rolls . it just depends on your wrist size.
Grab a strip of paper and lay it out with the side you want visible facing the ground.
then, i take the end of my paint brush to help me roll up the paper, this makes it go much faster.
once i get to the end of the newspaper, i like to cut off that extra white bit so all you see is the black and white print,
in order to keep it rolled while i finish the other 20-25 i like to just stick a bobby pin in there to keep it rolled up nice and tight.
once you have the amount you think you will need [ i advise you make a few extra, just in case!]
your going to need that modpodge and paintbrush.
take the bobby pin out but make sure you grip it so it does not unroll.
put a good amount of modpodge on each end, making sure you get it on the inside as much as you can.
this is to make sure it stays tight.
then put a layer or two under the end of the paper
and smooth it out, then another few layers of modpodge on top and all around,
i usually let them dry and then add another layer or two after that to harden them a little more.
once they are dry all you do it get your elastic cord.
i usually cut it about 3 maybe 4 times the length of my wrist.
then insert through the hole and slide the paper to the center of the elastic.
thenjust weave the ends through each paper roll like this...
sorry about the really horrible little kidish paint picture. i didnt really no how else to show it..
once its the length you want, i usually pull it and stretch it and tighten the elastic so its not all loose once i tie it.
i like to tie a knot at the end and dab a little clear nail polish/glue to keep it from coming undone.
Yay. You Have A New Bracelet.
