Wohoo!!

We should think of a cool eye-catching name other than "Crafts Fair" so people get interested more. The April post-First Friday would be Saturday the Second, so I think that's a good date.

Advertising: I'm not a full-fledged graphic designer, but I"m willing to design some full spread cool color fliers to put up all around campus and downtown.

Sponsoring: Should we try to get sponsoring? Or how are we to do about initial funding? Will that money come only from the vendors' donations?

Location: Hmm, where exactly in Starland? In the "main gallery"? (That's what I call it)

Okay thats all i can think of right now!

Ok everyone we set a date.

Starland craft fair Satureday, May 7th in the contemporary art gallery. It's not for profit but we are going to ask for a small table renal fee, because we have no monies Sad.

To sign up and submit images of your work (so we dont end up with 20 duct tape wallet vendors) contact me at mshann20@student.scad.edu or megshannon50@hotmail.com.

Tell your friends. If we ger over 20 participants i promise to supply refreshments! [/font]

I live in Southern GA, about 4 hours from Savannah. I'll travel to the craft fair if the hip people from this site are participating. And if anyone is in my area and wants to carpool that would be great. But I have a question- what exactly would renting a table enatil?  I am definitely a beginning crafter (mostly crochet) and I wouldn't want to get myself in over my head.

well, its kind of an "alterintive" theme. if you make cool crazy things with crochet, awesome. If your still working onn potholders, reconsider. but let me see some of your work. It's usually better than you think!

Hello everyone!

I would like to say thank you to everyone who has shown interest in the
craft fair thus far.

If you are serious about signing up, the deadline is april 15th (anytime
that weekend is fine) Remeber to send me pictures of your work, or a
link to pictures of your work, so i know whats coming.

The price for a full table is $10, and the price for a half is $6. Due
April 22nd or that weekend) You will also be asked to make a donation to
the gallery but it is not required.

Now for the big news- the theme of the craft fair is "Mutation".

This does not have to relate to your work, it is just to suggest the
idea of an alternitive craft fair.

So tell your friends!

Thanks everyone,
Meghan

Mutation: the venue for misfit crafts.
Saturday October 8th 2005
1-6 pm
StarCCA (bull and 41st)]
$12 full table
$8 half table

The last Mutation craft fair was Saturday, may 7th 2005. There were almost 25 vendors and approx. 200 shoppers attended. Many vendors were very successful not only with profits but also with meeting other crafters! Remember, this event is to raise money for the Starland Center for Contemporary Art, a nonprofit art gallery.

For more info, or to participate in the next event, or to volunteer, you can PM me or contact:
Meghan @ Mshann20@student.scad.edu or
or Amy Nieto at amynieto@gmail.com

Also, we will need items for raffles, and refreshments donated. Hope to see you there!
