There were no dresses anywhere so at the last minute I bought some cool maple leaf fabric and whipped up this dress for my daughter ... she got lots of compliments on our outing celebrating Canada Day!
comments welcomed! Grin

here she had already visited the face painting and gotten a butterfly on her face. She also just lost her 2 top teeth ... so she has a cute toothless smile right now!

Beautiful job! I'm just thrilled that you didn't do the tacky and "no-no" of using the actual flag!

I just about died when i saw someone do that. Wonderful choice and way to show our patriotic colours!

!!! the horror!!! That is a definite no no ... and believe it or not someone actually suggested it when I went on the hunt for the fabric. There was actually quite a few nice ones to choose from this year which was great and she actually picked the 2 she liked best. I just made it happen. I love that she wears stuff that I make her ... hopefully she never gets to the stage where she doesn't want to.

thanks ... even though my husband and I are immigrants to Canada (me from a looooooooooong time ago) I feel very much a true Canadian and love celebrating every Canada Day! I was so happy when she chose that fabric because it does make you smile to look at it ... or maybe I'm just cheesy that way!
