That was a great idea, and you pulled it off beautifully, without great expense and with great style! Is that a LDS Cultural hall I see in the background? LOL! Me thinks so.

Yes, it sure is, I've already had two pms asking! I was really against having it there originally, but it turned out better than I expected, and it was packed full of people.

good to know that i wasn't the only one thinking this Tongue
way awesome idea on the cup cake tree!

yeah... my first thought was "OMG!  Beautiful Cake tree" and then almost immediately I said "Oh hey!  that's an LDS cultural hall!"  How funny!!!  you did a fabulous job and you should definitely sell that cake tree -- I bet you could make more money than you put into it!

Lovely, lovely, lovely! I'm planning a cupcake tree for my wedding next year, and am so inspired to see how beautifully it can be done on the diy!

Did you do the cupcakes too? I've got to admit...the idea of baking so many little cakes is a little daunting. Lucky I've got lots of time to practice and a fiance who'd be happy to eat any mistakes I make along the way. Wink

We ordered them unfrosted from Sam's Club, they were so cheap! Got 165 for about $27, so saved a ton of time there. Then we just made delicious orange flavored buttercream frosting and frosted them all, then added pink food glitter things from the cake decorating section. I actually didn't help since I got sent to bed the night before, but I don't think it took long. I helped for the second reception and it only took a couple hours with 3 people frosting. We used a giant tip (size 1M) and it was quick.

First of all let me just say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! I mean, if someone wants to invent a time machine, I would love to go back to last March and do this for my wedding. (this woud also delete the cake drama we had, but that's another story) I'm so excited, I wanna make one now! How cute would this be for Christmas or birthdays with little presents and other decorations stacked on it! Okay, forgive me for the excitement, I'm gushing with it!  Grin Grin Grin

I completely AGREE this would be sooo neato to have and decorate with small toys and presents. Hell it would be cool to use this to display small things hanging around the house! I would love measurements!
