I made these in about a half hour today. I used this blue as a trial run because it was cheap, but I ended up loving them in the colour. It's a jersey material and super comfy. These have a fold over waistband. Let me know what you think. P.s. I won't wear them with my brown shirt, I am making a shirt to go with the pants...lol.

dang. I think I need me some gauchos!  Are they back in style again?  Yeah, I remember the gaucho from first hand experience... but then I also remember boot cut, peg legs and even the hand me down hip huggers....

Your gauchos came out really nice - did you use a pattern for them?

They are simplicity 4237, and I have no idea if they are in style...lol I don't really follow trends. I just found the pattern in my stash and they looked airy and light for the hot weather....lol

Nice pants!  And I like brown and blue together, myself.  I wish I could whip things together in a half an hour - I do too much measuring and pinning, I think.

Nothing is better in the hot summer than a fast sewing project!

They look comfy, cool and flattering on you!  Yay for using old patterns that still work for you!

They were fairly easy, the pattern itself was simple. Although I recommend a serger, I used a very stretchy knit fabric. If you tried to use a regular straight stitch your seams would break. There were only 7 seams, then hem the bottoms. You have to pin it lots and serge slowly not stretching as you go, or the seams will be wonky.
