I updated my setting idea for my blocks from this swap! Thank you all for such amazing beautiful blocks! You are all so talented and I'm so overjoyed to have made blocks for each other!



I still need to make one more block to replace the one that ajanderson didn't make/send.

I'm quilting each block individually and then stitching them together using the quilt as you go method and here's my progress as of last week~



I'm still trying to convince myself I'm not too busy to join round 4! I really want to because this last round was awesome!

ritapizza- it's so pretty!  I love how all of your fabrics look together.  How do you like the quilt as you go method?  I've never tried it before, it looked so time consuming.  What made you do it that way instead of sandwiching and quilting?

It could be time consuming, but it's easy. I make a quilt sandwich for each block, then quilt it, then sew them together.

I like this way because I don't have space in my tiny apartment to baste a big quilt and I can concentrate on my hand quilting. I'm quilting each block differently depending on the block pattern. So far, I'm really liking this method!

ritapizza!  Your quilting is just fantastic.  And thanks for posting the how-to on your website.  I've only seen ragged-edge quilt-as-you-go quilts, and I like your finished-edge method SOOOOOO much better!  Beautiful, beautiful work!

I agree!  That quilting is lovely, and the blocks look so nicely laid out like that.  This is the one you're making for your mom, right?  It looks great!

I just posted two blocks for my own Christmas quilt.  I am piecing the top tonight and finally finished these up for it.
