It looks like there hasn't been any activity for a while in our area. Are there any craft groups that are in our area that are still up and going? I would love to find a group to get together with to swap crafty ideas and work on projects with!

I craft every day here in Jacksonville, have one rubber stamping club and also offer classes... my design or made to order.  I would love to host a monthly or bi-monthly group of crafters.  What types of crafts are you interested in?  I teach rubber stamping, card making, scrapbooking, glass etching... have also done a lot of quilting, cross stitch, cooking, crochet... we could meet at a library or restaurant...
any takers?

Hey, I don't know if you guys do any crocheting/knitting as well, but check out the thread I just posted about a crochet/knit group. Other crafters would also be just as welcome as I am a full supporter of all the crafting arts Smiley

Hey, new to the site.  I'm a newby crafter.  I've been crafting for a few years and don't really follow patterns.  I just look at stuff and recreate it.  I just love crafting.

I'm also a homeschooling mama of one super sweet little girl named Bella.  I craft a lot for her.  Recently, she's started getting into Waldorf faeries.  So, I'm on a new road in my crafting journey.  I'm learning how to do these.  I want to do some faeries, their playscapes, a toadstool or two and maybe some woodland felted animals to go with them.

I've never needle-felted.  I've never wet-felted.  All of my experience with felt is felt food with store-bought felt.  So...
Any advise on where to purchase materials around Jacksonville?
So far, I've found a few tutorials on making felted balls.  I'm planning on just taking this idea and adding a body and wisps of roving for wings.  Wish me luck!

So do we have a local group?  I'd love to find some place to buy cheaper rovings or wool yarn.

I've never done felting either, but have always wanted to try it. I got a group of people together to meet up to crochet and knit together if you're interested in coming out. Some of them have been crocheting for quite a while so I'm sure they could help answer your questions. We have our first meeting this Sunday afternoon and it will probably continue on Sundays and possibly one night during the week as well. If you're interested in coming out, I'll get you all the details.

There's no charge or anything, we got a free room at a library so all you need to bring is crafting materials and you're set! Smiley
