I have had this toile material about 10 yrs.. originally bought to line a cloak I never made.. anyways I have envisioned as a skirt or a dress for five yrs..  I don't sew much and am not very good at it.. but when inspiration leads the way...   I have skirt I am addicted to as the cut is just right.. needless to say I used my favorite skirt and did my best to recreate a pattern from it.. using crafting paper .. I folded my favorite skirt.. (it made basically of 6  rounded triangles with the narrow end chopped off for the straight waist)  and then there is a thick band that hides all the top seams and helps rest better on the hips.. since I don't know much about sewing thats the best I could explain.. I did have extra waist band material and instead of snipping and sewing I opted to make it a little tie knot .. I am using little hooks for now but will be getting a zipper sometime soon to tidy up the closure part..
I don't think I have seen toile anywhere on clothes except maybe sound of music....

I did happen to make it even more fascinating minor accident looks cool.. I  alternated the pattern form right side up to upside down.. Anyways .. wala..

So cute! You did a really great job!  Cheesy

I'm waking up again and see that war on screen again
And it makes me want to go and hide
This world is full of misery, the anger is too big to see
That's why I had to dream this dream

Toile has always been classy but creative to me.  Cute pattern!
