I also recieved a personal letter from Mr. R in childhood, in response to one I wrote him. It explained that King Friday was a jerk because he was lonely, and in reference to your childhood hero explaination, he also told me that trying is the important thing, that every effort makes the world more beautiful. Cheers to your beautiful effort!

I remember watching him as a child and not quite understanding why he would change his shoes if he was going to be inside anyway, but the shoes and the cardigan are just as much of the charm of Mr. Rogers as Trolley and the Land of Make-Believe. Yours is a perfect translation of man to miniature.
