This had to be the biggest project I've ever done! It all started a year ago when I decided that my boyfriend, who loves the ninja turtles, needed a blanket. So I set out making a pattern. I had a friend of mine crochet a blanket for because I don't know how to crochet. I think its a single stitch or something like that. I'll have a pic don't worry. Anyway, this particular stitch gives you a grid pattern, it's easier to see if you stretch it a little bit. But it was perfect for cross stitching. I hadn't cross-stitched in years, since I was a little girl. But I wanted to do it. After the first month I realized I was in over my head. Between school, work, and plain ol' procrastination, the whole cross-stitching portion took a year and about 3 months. I was excited to see this challenge as I was finishing the blanket. I thought that this would work perfect!! I am amazed at how well it turned out even if I know where ALL of my mistakes are lol. The back portion turned out messier than I wanted but too late to fix that now. To keep it as neat as i could I wove the colored yarn through the crochet stitches. You can see it better in some of the pics. Thanks so much for looking!

Here's the blanket as a whole.

Here's the back of the blanket.

Wow, although I made the mistake of looking at it with my son sitting close to the computer. Better be careful when he starts showing his friends, lol they might try to steal you away, just to get there own blankets!

wow that is amazing. i think the back looks really neat, not messy at all.
If you don't like it, you could also sew some fabric to the back like fleece.  I did that with an intarsia scarf i made. the back looked like crap.  the fleece made it really warm and covered all the knots.

This is excellent!  I'm wondering, where did you get the cross stitch pattern?  I've been trying to find the same one with no luck.
