TMNT Cross-stitch blanket - Tons of Pics!!!

This had to be the biggest project I've ever done! It all started a year ago when I decided that my boyfriend, who loves the ninja turtles, needed a blanket. So I set out making a pattern. I had a friend of mine crochet a blanket for because I don't know how to crochet. I think its a single stitch or something like that. I'll have a pic don't worry. Anyway, this particular stitch gives you a grid pattern, it's easier to see if you stretch it a little bit. But it was perfect for cross stitching. I hadn't cross-stitched in years, since I was a little girl. But I wanted to do it. After the first month I realized I was in over my head. Between school, work, and plain ol' procrastination, the whole cross-stitching portion took a year and about 3 months. I was excited to see this challenge as I was finishing the blanket. I thought that this would work perfect!! I am amazed at how well it turned out even if I know where ALL of my mistakes are lol. The back portion turned out messier than I wanted but too late to fix that now. To keep it as neat as i could I wove the colored yarn through the crochet stitches. You can see it better in some of the pics. Thanks so much for looking!

Ha! the ONLY reason I stuck to it was because my boyfriend knew i was making it for him. Trust me, there were many times where i justed wanted to throw the darn thing away lol
