I loved this fabric (bit more understated than I usually go for but I thought I'd try something a bit more subtle for once!) and it was on sale so I tried a couple of different things with it.

Here is a peasant dress with lacey bow and trim (pardon the bed hed!)

Here's a shorter top (she should have more than just a nappy on but I was desperate to get pics before her nap!)

I knew how I wanted it to look but it was a total ordeal getting there... first attempt was just an elasticated band at the top (terrible!), then shirred only outside the front panel (bizarre) and then finally shirred basically everywhere, it's better but still not exactly what I was after...  Teaches me right for sewing after midnight!

Your daughter is a cutie, especially with bed head. The dress is perfect and I like the details on the top.

I've gone through a similar process myself trying to get a particular style  Cheesy

They both look great.  I love the second one particularly... it's so much more stylin' than your basic shirred top - so cute  Smiley

Thanks everyone... it was definitely a labour of love!  Spend all morning saying 'have some cheerios', 'have an apple', 'have some breadsticks' until I got 30 seconds to run through machine! and repeat again...
