Hello,

Here's a picture of a just finished Brutus the Buckeye. I was inspired by another post a while back - thanks to that post, I never would've thought to make Brutus!

Wow I can totally see him dotting the "I" in a little tiny ami version of "script ohio" which I am a little ashamed to say makes me cry when I see it at football games.  Go Bucks!

Thanks for all the great comments! I shed a tear at the script Ohio, too! Smiley

I used the Sprite pattern from Crochet Me's site as the basis for Brutus, just changing the colors as needed:
http://crochetme.com/sprite

I wish I could remember how I did the light brown oval on his face! I'll have to try to go back and count. I know I started with the usual magic-ring circle for about four rows, then I slip-stitched around until I got to the point where I wanted to add more stitches to make the oval. I'm sure there's a better way out there to make an oval - I'll have to find it when I try to make another Brutus in the future!

The hat started as a magic-ring circle with 6 sc, then I just added inc evenly around until I got the width, then I stitched evenly around to get the height. The brim of the hat and the towel are straight single crochet.

Wow, that's really confusing - I hope that makes sense! Thanks everyone for checking out Brutus!
