Working with molten metal is so exciting - I'll never forget how hyped-up I got when we poured our aluminium sculptures in school.  Too bad you lost your pictures...you'll just have to do more  : ) obviously you have a talent for it.

I really liked the way you broke it up into pieces.  I'm sure it wouldn't have had as much interest, even though it's very lovely, if it had been just one slab.  Good instincts!
