Yay! I received today from canadachick91. Here's the loot:

Handmade cards:

A crocheted baby blanket and hat, and an adorable cow jumping over the moon pillow. I do not have the patience for counted x-stitch.

A hand painted and decoupaged steam punk lunch box:

side 2:

Ooh and look! There's something inside!
Blondies:

I barely got a shot of these before my boys gobbled them up!

It was like Christmas morning when I came home this evening and found a box from my crafting swap partner, Aliselovester!  This was my first swap, so it was extra special.  Before I could fix supper I just had to open my box.

Lookie at what I found, my guest room (along with me) will loved all the new goodies!

First off, so you will know how PERFECT my crafts are, I need you to know I have a Victorian guest bedroom. The carpet is a light moss green and the walls a pale yellow, with lavender as my accent color.

First was this beautiful crocheted clock, the room has the perfect little wall for this!  The lace pattern was selected to remind one of Victorian architecture.

Then I found this sweet, beautifully knitted lacy yellow pillow cover over the perfect green pillow and tied with a lavender satin ribbon.

And here is the beautiful back of the pillow.

(I soooo wish I had this needle work skill!)

I have a big window in this room, and Alicelovester made me these instant lead glass pieces for the window.  They will be so much fun to put on the glass and enjoy with the afternoon sun.

This was so much fun, and I am so grateful to my delightful swap buddy!  She is a very talented lady!

Those are some gorgeous stitched pieces, you too! I love that steampunk lunchbox! And the stained glass pieces are really lovely!

Here I am at last to post pictures of the fantastic package I received from MidnightOak! (Apparently "Today or tomorrow" meant "4 days later"... oops!).

First of all, I was excited by the big box, and by all the stamps on it - even more delightful, they were classic monster movies stamps! Perfect for my growing collection! And then, I was even more delighted to see the wrapping. Beautiful! Unfortunately, I have no pictures of these parts for you... but I will show you what was inside!

First of all, there was a lacy choker with a medical or apothecary feel - a little vial with wild barley she picked on the Leeds canal! Very neat. (The lace is a bit twisted in the picture.. I guess I was a bit anxious!

Next up, she made me a little arm warmer sort of thing (perfect for those days when a sweater is too much, but a short sleeve top is not enough!) - she says it's inspired by the "Victorian stripes and obsession with all things Eastern"... it's also reversible - the other side is the same colours, but much brighter!

And then the large item was a tea.. chest? (I can't think of the proper term for it). But we discovered a mutual love for tea, and she made me a cute little tea service set (which she says was inspired by something from the Victoria and Albert Museum!) - it has 2 tins of tea, a loose tea steeper, sugar cube tongs, and a little tray for a teabag. All in a nice box (which I do believe she also made?)

Finally, there were some extras! A few more teas (in fact, there was one more - a big bag of Yorkshire tea - but it's getting heavy use around my household in the past couple of days. So much that I think my mom has changed from tea bags to loose tea!), and then the tags from the packaging which were all made up to look as if I might have gone shopping at some shops in Victorian times ("Madame Teresa's Timeless Trinkets", "Finella's Finery", and "Wyte and Sons Tea Merchants"),  and a very neat Victoriana postcard!

Anyway, thanks MidnightOak for a marvellous package! I was squealing with delight as I was opening things. (And thanks for the Paris tips too! I might check out a couple of those places!)

Oh, my! I absolutely love that tea service! It's so cute and clever - a perfect gift for a tea lover. I love how the pieces fold together and such.

I'm glad you like everything! I have to admit, I had some major swap anxiety after I received your package.

Thought I'd post the things I sent zazazoom. Hope she likes them. The photos aren't that good because I tend to be slack about photographing the things I am sending. Roll Eyes

Here is the woolen reticule with steampunk inspired embroidery. It was fun and acted as a sort of sampler; I tried out a few different stitches. Originally I was going to make a cape of the same wool but the sewing machine isn't working. I hand sewed this but didn't think I had the time or patience to do the same with a cloak.

This is the other stuff I made. a pair of armwarmer/fingerless lace gloves. It is deliberately very roughly sewn to bring out the more punk side because zazazoom like that. A steampunk necklace choker combo. A phenakistoscope and two thaumatrope. There is also a Victoriana resin phone charm missing from the picture.

I didn't take a photo of the extras.
