Simplicity 2886
This one turned out really well considering I used some stiff home-dec fabric. It actually had a band of yellow around the bottom, but that just made the skirt open out like in Alice in Wonderland when she's falling down the rabbit hole.

Simplicity 4070
This was made out of "shirting" fabric, which I guess means you are supposed to make blouses out of it. But it's light and floaty, so good for a dress. I was going to put the boning in the front, but I trimmed my seams too small, and the boning couldn't fit! But it stays up well on its own.

Thanks for looking!

These are both so cute!  I think that I like the white one the most--very simple and classy!

they are both very cute, I particularly like the yellow one.  I think i have that strapless pattern...
FYI- shirting fabric is generally good for shirts and dresses- 'shirting' refers to the weave and the weight.

Beautiful! I have some cool home dec fabric that I wasn't sure would work for a dress, but it looks great on your dress! I'm going to have to check out that pattern....
