Here is a tissue holder that I made for Mojen for the IYP swap and she has recieved... It was inspired by a question mark tissue box cover that was in her wists, I think off of the Make or Craft magazine website...

Here is a Nintendo DS Lite case I made for a friend for Christmas, obviously based on the original which has become a Craftster icon...

Thanks for looking!

Update: Tissue box pattern now available in my Etsy shop here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/60542119/pattern-needlepoint-plastic-canvas-super

But we have flamethrowers. And what this indicates to me, it means that at some point, some person said to himself, "Gee, I sure would like to set those people on fire over there. But I'm way too far away to get the job done. If only I had something that would throw flame on them."

haha I love it; the images are perfect. I think this may be the only tissue box cover I've ever seen that my husband would allow in our house!

That tissue box is awesome! I will have to try to make one like that someday.

And great job on the ds case! It still amazes me that so many people liked my craft and have made one for themselves! It makes me really happy!

Awesome! Both the box and the DS case look great! I don't have much need for a tissue box, but I've got to make myself a box like that anyway, to keep other things in. They seem so fun to make!

Thanks everyone! It is not crochet, it is plastic canvas (aka needlepoint?), which is kind of like cross stitch but with a larger plastic grid and yarn...

Wow.....this is so fabulous!  I want one so so bad. :d   If you don't mind me asking, did you use a cross-stitch chart and just transfer it onto plastic canvas?  I got a bunch of plastic canvas from the thrift store awhile ago, but I have yet to attempt to use it for anything. Smiley

nope, i saw pixelated images online and just took a piece of graph paper and sketched it out before i started stitching it... i'm sure you could use cross stitch patterns if they were out there...

I've been doing quite a bit of plastic canvas needlework myself lately. I saw this picture and immediately knew "Oh, there's the mosaic stitch!"

In reply to the folks who asked about how this is done: the square looking stitches she's used in the tissue box are mosaic stitches. The thing to keep in mind, and I say this as a person who routinely fails to do this, is that the mosaic stitch takes up more space than a continental stitch (used in the DS lite case). So while you can use a cross stitch application to get a chart you'll need to get use a bigger piece of canvas than it might suggest.
