One for Me, One for You Gallery

I've finally finished my "for me" praying mantis!  whew!  Here's a bunch of pictures, but it really does look cooler in person, it doesn't really photograph well!






I'll be giving it to my kiddo for christmas.  He studied praying mantises in school last year, each kid in the class raised one from a baby, so he will love it!

Chicomich has received hers but hasn't posted pictures.  I finished mine so I thought I would post pictures of mine.
I made a cherry tree inside of a shadow box.  The trunk is sculpey, the branches are twigs from my back yard, and the blossoms are quilled...or rolled paper.

I just have to say that that praying mantis is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.  I love it!

I love the praying mantis! I need to find a crochet pattern for one. It would look pretty cool on my desk at school...

And, the cherry blossom tree is fantastic. I really do need to take that box of quilling supplies off of the shelf and give it a go. You did a beautiful job!

Thanks everyone.  I have to say, everyone always says it must take patience...well its funny b/c to me it doesn't really require my patience.  The things that would require my patience are things like knitting that praying mantis, or sewing anything...clothes to fit someone... OMG I would throw the sewing machine through the window!  I guess we all just have a knack for different things.  And pardon my sappy sentiment, but I think it is so cool that we all come together here to express our different crafting abilities.
