Care Bears fabric + Erasable Chalk Board fabric

I ordered some really cute erasable chalk cloth fabric and just received it in the mail this week. I wanted to make an erasable travel placemate for my little cousin K. They are super easy to make and hopefully she'll have fun doodling on it while she's at a restaurant or just waiting for dinner at home

I made a little pocket and flap with a velcro closure to hold extra pieces of chalk. There are 2 long ties that can be used to secure the whole placemat when she is finished using it and her mom wants to roll it up and tuck it into her tote bag.

I wasn't really sure where to post this project because it didn't quite fit into the doll category, or the purse and accessories category...so I put it here since it's kid related

There are some stores that sell it online. I had a difficult time finding it at first because I was googling it as "erasable chalk board fabric" (which seemed logical haha) but turns out that it's called "chalk cloth". Fabric.com has one of the best prices that I've seen per yard.

This is such a good idea for a kid in restaurants, or long car rides. Gotta love the care bears!

THis is the neatest thing I have seen for a while. So clever!!!!!!!!! I didn't know that they made chalkboard fabric. Ohhhhhhhh the ideas Anyways, you did such a fabulous job!!!!!!!!
