I've been busy sewing for my upcoming trip to Hawaii... on Tuesday! I'm not really a summer person, and I don't really have much in the way of a summer wardrobe, not to mention a decent swimsuit, which left me slightly screwed for my trip to Hawaii. Oh yeah, I forgot I made another swimsuit as well... oh dang, I will have to upload those later... possibly of me wearing it in Hawaii Grin (it's my first time there!). I don't really remember what order I posted these URLs in, so I will just describe each of the garments here. I've got a bathing suit top, which I made to match my existing bathing suit bottoms... it was kind of tricky sewing that ring in the middle, until I finally found my zipper foot. I am confident it will stay on very nicely in the water, that's always a concern of mine, as a former competitive swimmer. The brown and blue dress was kind of just an experiment... I wanted a little dress to wear in the sun. The orange one can also be worn as a skirt, or with the entire yoke-ish thing above the chest. I have decided I really like those ring things. I'm getting better at putting them in. I've also included pictures of my grad dress. I used an old Vogue pattern for the bodice, and changed the neckline to a sweetheart. I was too lazy to put in a facing, or a lining... believe me, it was hot enough without the lining.  Of course, I was the only girl wearing a wool dress to grad (grad... eww... HUNDREDS of IDENTICAL ruched taffeta dresses with cheap beaded embroidery). I really liked that the skirt fabric came pre-pleated. I just gathered it a bit, and it poofed out like an erm... cupcake? Anyways, the dress took me 5 hours, start to finish, which included modifying the pattern and designing the skirt. The swimsuit top, and 2 dresses took me under an hour. Thank god.

First off, I hope you have a wonderful, fun and safe trip to Hawaii!!!

The swimsuit top is VERY cute.  I think I agree with you about the little rings, the orange dress is really pretty as well.  And dang!  Your graduation dress is AMAZING!  The colors go very well together, and it fits you perfectly.  You look like a little model or something!!  Pretty, pretty, pretty!!

Thanks all! Your compliments are greatly appreciated  Cheesy Haha, yeah when I told people my prom dress was going to be pink and green they were all "oh... um, that's... different". Carrie Bradshaw? Hmmm..... is that the character from sex and the city? Sorry, I am clueless when it comes to those sort of things, but I think that was a compliment, so fanks! I will definately have fun on the islands... Oahu is the one I am visiting, and I'm going with my whole family! I believe there are around 18 of us...
