Living in the UK (but having grown up in the States), I look on wistfully at all your children wearing lovely summer clothes...  I've made some too but it's not quite the same under a sweater, rain jacket and with woolly tights!

But we're off to the States to visit my folks on Thurs, so I'm going nuts making summer clothes dd can actually wear, hooray!

Last week it was shirred dresses, this week it's bloomers.  I've made about 20 pairs, plain ones every colour under the sun (I'll not bore you with those pics) and some patterned ones to wear with matching tops / dresses or with plain tees.  I chose bloomers over normal shorts as I don't like nappies poking through wide leg openings...  Thats just me!  Sadly, few action pics now, I'll update when we're back!

These are the prototype in plain white.  You think she'd look happier having just stole her brother's apple!

See, they allow a huge range of movement!

With matching shirred dresses

Did these in red and white, pink and white and black and white, for wearing with plain tees or this dress

For friends three month old, with mataching plain red bloomers.  Made one for her sister too (3yr old)

Love the fabric, hate the dress....

You did a great job creating those adorable summer outfits! I love them. I've just ventured into sewing and I really want to try making some shirred tops or dresses for muy DD's (hopefully before summer ends Wink)
BTW, where did you get the elephant fabric? My Mom collects them, and I've promised a quilt for her upcoming birthday, it would be perfect!
Thanks

Mommato5girls (really?! you must be superhuman!), I'm in the UK so not sure if where I got it would be any use to you... like I said though, I'm in the States at the end of this week, if you really wanted it I will get it from our local shop and post it to you when we get there (convo me personally)?  BTW, shirring is the easiest thing ever and looks very professional!

Wowzers!  Those are gorgeous!  They all look great.  And I like the elephant one, too!  It's fun and different.

The red and white frog one is my favorite.  But I'm partial to red.

Have fun in the states!  Grin
