another question.....can you put your findings in the resin after you pour it.....I've seen the candy sprinkles, are they put in before or after......how fast does it set up?

Findings...do you mean like the things you embed in the resin? If so, I put the butterflies in first...then poured...in the case of candy sprinkles I do resin halfway...then sprinkles...then more resin. If it's candy conversation hearts...same as the butterflies...candy first. That's what has worked for me...don't know if its the 'correct' thing to do or not.
It sets up tacky within a couple hours...real hard to pop out of the mold...give it 24 hours to be sure.  Wink

REsin virgin? !!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Check them in about 12-14 hours...if you keep them in a warm dry place...um, such as the deck on the south side of my house when its about 89+ degrees out...then they might be done early!

I think it depends too on how thick they're poured. The ones I did at 11:00 last night were good to go early this afternoon...about 15 hours.

It's something you'll get a feel for as you do it again.

So is it addicting or what? Don't forget to post your results when you're done! Wink

LOLOLOL  I was JUST thinking that!  I need to take it off my profile!! I did it!!! yay Me!!!!!  hey, I broke my foot almost two weeks ago....hurts, I'm in a boot....oh it's reeeeaaal pretty.   on the resin front.. I only did three.  two medium sized ones and a really small one.  I used a medicine cup(the ones you get on the cough syrup for kids) and only measured out three teaspoons.  I wanted to start slow....lololol now I want to fill all my molds!!!  I've got to go looking for goodies to put in now!!!  this is fun!!!!  Oh and I sooooo hope your toesie gets better real fast....I bet ya can't walk huh?   Embarrassed

That's a wonderful point about mixing up the resin...you can make as much or as little as you want! You don't have to commit to making a dozen or more at a time! Just try a couple.

I bet you can use one of those large medicine droppers to get the resin into the molds neatly too!

Fun things to try...flowers...I did a bunch ...fresh not dried and they came out wicked cool! And seashells. Wink
