So four of my close girlfriends and I decided we wanted to throw a party and give it a theme. We were brainstorming on names and themes and decided we wanted a prom. Everyone is over the age of 25 and decided it wasn't too late to make new memories of prom for those who had an awful time the 1st time around.

So we bumped heads on the type of prom and the name. We each decided that the name was going to be "Golden Showers" after a night of drinking and conversation about R. Kelly. Now I knowwww it sounds gross but we did a spin on it and explained it like "gold is raining from the sky" *dramatic hand gestures ensue*

We seriously took lots of time and effort decorating and setting things up. We had a total blast. Gold lights everywhere. A friend of ours is a DJ and he provided the music and a photographer friend of ours as well showed up with all his gear and provided the pictures.

We each had a theme to our dresses. I did late 80's/early 90's with the big hair and big dress. Being gloriously chunky and all I had to make my own dress. Quite the task for a total novice.

Without further adieu

I had a broken wrist and had NEVER done anything like this before. I just barely understand the construction of zippered pouches.

It looks a little crooked because of the way I was leaning but it was perfect. I could have taken some time to press it so you don't see the crease, but I was a total procrastinator and pieced everything together hours before the party started.
(just in case you missed it, I am the fabulous chunky gal with the big hair)
Comments and criticism welcome!

Oh I like! How fun are you guys! I had a friend do her wedding reception in a prom theme since she was unable to attend, so much more fun as adults!  Cheesy

it took me almost a month of screaming at my machine and my cast. My husband was certain I was losing my mind. I don't have a picture of the back but there is a HUGE bow. LOL It was fun.

Time is an illusion. Lunchtime, doubly so.

I may not have gone where I intended, but I have ended up where I needed to be.

You look precious!  What a solid job for a beginner.  Keep stitching, I want to see more of your work!  A sense of humor is always appreciated.
