So I've decided to invest in a real-honest-to-goodness dress form for all of my sewing endeavors. But now, I need some feedback. I want something that will be able to stand up, and I'm not quite sure how to rig a duct-tape or paper-tape one to do that.

Anyways, what dress form do you use or would you recommend, or NOT recommend!

Thanks ever so much!

I got a uniquely you dress form about a month ago and I really love it. My sewing is going so much more quickly and I can pin into it. I picked it over other adjustable models because there aren't any gaps in the form, it's just one piece of foam. The stand that came with it is sort of weak though, it doesn't fall over, but it does sink sometimes.

If I had the money for a new one, I'd go for the Uniquely You form.  I have an adjustable model (Dritz) and while it's o.k., its not quite as adjustable as the Uniquely You.  There are a few companies that will make a from based solely on your measurements (http://www.fabulousfit.com/)

I have an adjustable one, and while I love being able to pin in it...it's really not the most stable..
I can't believe it sells for more than $100 on Ebay and sometimes almost $400 in stores! It's probably not worth that...I'm glad I only had to pay $2 for mine. Cheesy

I'm going to go with Uniquely You.  I ADORE mine.  I've been able to compare it to the adjustable one my mom got and the UY is much better, imo.
I tried the duct tape one, but one piece of clothing I decided to throw it out and get a real one.  It wasn't worth the trouble.

Thanks so much for all of your replies! I'm going to have to look into the uniquely you form! I plan on doing quite a bit of draping, so I think the foam would make things go quite a bit more smoothly!
