Hi all!

So I wanna get some ideas for gifts for my greyhound-loving friend who takes care of my rabbits while I am away. I can knit and sew or would have a go at other crafts at a basic level!

Thanks in advance!

Does she have a greyhound? If so you could knit/sew a coat for her grey-- they have very thin skin and short fur and have to wear coats in the winter. You could also donate a couple of coats to a shelter like a donation in her honor if she doesn't have a grey.

Thank you thief,

Yes she does have a grey, lucky girl.

Any ideas on sizing a coat for a greyhound?

I noticed this thread is a little old, but hopefully this will still help! There's a pattern for a knit coat and a sewn coat for greyhounds in this old newsletter: http://www.greyhoundsinneed.com/newsletters/NewsLetterFrame.htm?http&&&www.greyhoundsinneed.com/newsletters/NewsLetter03Spring.htm

Look under "Useful stuff" in the bottom right corner where it says "Making a coat for a shivering skinny."

Thank you so much Mandy

The girl in question had a run-in with a car recently, so I'm going to make a coat in high-visibility fabric in the hope it will help.

Very much appreciated.

I made a snood for my greyhound. He loves taking long walks and it keeps his ears warm!

I used to have greyhounds and I can tell you that they come in a WIDE range of sizes - I my first two were about 65 pounds each.  A friend of mine had a 40 pound greyhound and the last one that lived in my house was 95 pounds.....
My first thought was Greyhound Manor but they seem to have gone from the web sadly.  That was the best site for greyhound related things!
Search online for things with greyhound and you will find lots out there... here are a few - oh and sayings like I am a leaning post or my dog leans on me with a picture of a greyhound (greyhounds are leaners!)

Here are some great grey crafts!

http://www.allfreecrafts.com/sewing/stuffed-hound.shtml - that is one of my favorites!

there are a lot of things out there depending on what kind of craft you want to do.  It's sad that greyhound manor is not up and running any more. They had a TON of greyhound specific crafts on that site!

Yeah - I am really really bummed out about the greyhound manor site not being around anymore. They had tons and tons of patterns for free on that site - but that does not help us now, aye?

Can't wait to see what you make!
