This is the second hat I made. I'm sure there have been plenty of these posted. But here's my rendition of the Hero of Canton's hat made by his loving Ma Cobb. It was supposed to have ribbing in it, but I had not figured out that purling was a backwards knit at that time. So its not completely true to form.

also, did you mod it at all to make it a snugger fit for your girlie head?  i made one for my fiance that was way big for me, and i'd like to make my own someday  Wink

Lessee....yarns...L et me looky. I usually use Lion brand. In the gold, red, and orange (medium worsted). I found a pattern online, on craftster! Here's the linky: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=19076.20. But I generally altered all patterns because at the time I only had size 8 needles. haha. I'd double up the yarn or something. As far as measuring for size...I eyeball it, but that doesn't work for everyone...I'd suggest doing a swatch to get an idea of how much to Cast Off.
