I've tried to make hats before but it ended horribly. Cry
This is the first one I'm not ashamed of. I used a modified version of McCall's M4478, hat A.

Scroll down for brim tutorial.

So cute! What do you think made this a better hat-making experience for you? Did you try some new techniques, get lucky...? Making hats seems a bit daunting to me. Any words of encouragement now that you've made such a lovely hat?  Grin

That looks PERFECT! Is it for a girl or a boy?  I've made a few so-so hats before too. Tell us what you did right!  Roll Eyes

Thanks everyone!
jeanderbyNY: I tried to sketch instructions for the brim but I don't know if it's clear. English isn't my main language either so sorry if my sewing vocabulary is not accurate.

head vampire: I tampered with the pattern until it worked. It took all my patience. Smiley
christephi: it's for a girl but she's a bit of a tomboy.

Super job.   Especially like the inside lining.   It gives it a very professional touch.
