My niece Christina is almost 3, she loves to play tea party. she has the basic tea set, but she doesn't have the treats to go with it. she has been improvising with small stuffed animals. "Here tia manda, kitty cookie!" she says. so i figured out a simple pattern for cupcakes.

Rnd 2 Work 2 sc in each st around (14 sts)
Rnd 3 [2 sc in next st, sc in next st] repeat around (21 sts)
Rnd 4 [2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st] repeat around (28 sts)
Rnd 5 [2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 st] repeat around (35 sts)
Rnd 6 --- sc BLO in each st (35 sts)
Rnd 7-13 sc in each st around (35 sts)
Rnd 14change to CC sc in each st around end off
Cut yarn leaving a long tail for sewing, sl st, pull tail through loop.

Sew frosting to base, leaving a 1″ opening for stuffing. Stuff cupcake and finish sewing frosting to base.
